Identifying as "genre non-conforming DJ",  Ayes Cold builds her reputation around her funky eclectic selections, her mixes that seamlessly blend disparate genres, her love for percussive polyrhythmic grooves and her intuitive ability to read and respond to the dance floor. As noted by Chris Richards of the Washington Post in 2017, "her eyes are as sharp as her ears."

Ayes Cold taught herself how to DJ by experimenting on a tiny MIDI controller in 2013, and in 2015 she threw herself into the deep end by leaving her international development job to DJ full-time. Over the years she has backed rising artists like Princess Nokia,  performed at parties in Boston, New York, Atlanta Austin; DJ'd at festivals like Bonnaroo, SXSW, Celebrate Brooklyn, Central Park Summer Stage, DC's Sweet Green Blockparty and Trillectro ; supported Goldlink, Soulection Radio Tour, Shabazz Palaces, Gaslamp Killer and Tokimonsta; and soundscaped shows with diverse talent like Blood Orange, Venus X, Mike Q, Vjuan Allure, Dave Nada, Madame Gandhi, and Solange Knowles. Ayes has also built up a steady private client base DJing for names like Live Nation, Apple, The Kennedy Center, The Smithsonian, Planned Parenthood, CRAFT, Urban Outfitters, Netflix, Doc Martens, West Elm and Etsy.

Formerly a resident at the Line Hotel (DC)  (Full Service Radio) and booker at U Street Music Hall, Ayes Cold recently relocated to NYC to focus on producing her own tracks and manage label relations at Splice.com
